Story of ditchx

Elementary pa lang (early 90s), interesado na ako gumamit ng computer. Nagkaroon kasi noon ng summer school na introduction sa computers.

High school nagkaroon kami ng konting programming sa computer class (BASIC). I liked it and I could say I was good at it - may extra feature yung ginawa ko na ipinagtaka ng teacher namin kung paano ko nagawa (until tiningnan niya yung source).

First choice ko is Computer Science. Di ko matandaan kung may IT course na nung panahon na yun, pero university na pinasukan ko wala. "Quota course" yung Computer Science dun meaning limited numbers of students lang ang tinatanggap. Swerte naman nakapasok ako. Pero nakick/shift out ako nung 3rd year kasi may nabreak akong unit requirements (flunked several Math and elective subjects, but my majors were really good). Gumraduate ako sa isang engineering course na hindi naman related sa computers, at mas maraming Math.

After ko maka-graduate, lahat ng in-applyan ko ay programmer position. Fortunately, 3 out of 4 companies na in-applyan nagbigay ng job offer. I settled for a web developer position in a company somewhere in Makati.

While working as a web dev, nagreview ako at nagtake ng board exam. Curious lang ako kung kaya kong ipasa. Nagawa ko naman and I got my license. Pero hindi na ako nagpractice sa field na yun at tinuloy ko lang pagiging web developer.
